When life's disappointment's bring hurt, pain discouragement, and betrayal too difficult to bear, the TapRoot Centre offers the safety and security needed to unburden yourself in a nurturing relational environment, a "safe-haven" on the journey home to hope, healing, and freedom!
Uniquely tucked inside one of Ohio's historical landmarks, the TapRoot Centre is a place of Hope, Healing, and Freedom for those who take a risk to enter in.. . Once part of the "underground railroad system" where slaves bound in captivity found brief periods of "safety and security" on their "flight to freedom", so too do many of those who venture near. Astoundingly only 1/2 mile or so south of the Wright Brother's Airport on Route #741, another symbol of "American Freedom", theTapRoot Centre has been in its foundational stages over the past several years, laying its "roots" on firm ground that would pass the test of time.
205 S. Main Street, Springboro, OH---From the outside, there is little that would attract one to it. But once inside, a "safe-haven" experience immediately begins which invites the sojourner to step deep inside, beyond the outer door, to experience a nurturing relational environment in which one can feel free enough to "lay their burdens down" while sharing their stories of life pain, abuse, neglect, trauma, loss, betrayal, illness, heartbreak, and despair.
The mission of the work that is going on within this "freedom centre" is the ministry of assisting others through the lifespan of moving from a state of powerlessness and paralysis to empowerment; from silence and the inability to use their voices on their own behalf to a position of speaking confidently and with a kind of boldness that accompanies the need to address "matters of the heart".
Our primary goal is to encourage, empower, inspire, strengthen, motivate, and educate women through the sharing of their stories of life pain, betrayals, woundedness, disappointments, and despair. As they risk telling others who they have believed themselves to be, they begin to gain a clearer understanding of their "connection" to their "authentic" selves , to others, and to God. As truth is revealed about their life experiences and their "minds are renewed", they are freed to experience new opportunities with others, and to see their own lives transformed while they pursue life as a healing journey toward "hope and wholeness". This occurs as women choose to step beyond the unhealthy lifestyle choices of their past, and choose daily to live authentically, with the integrity which brings freedom to be all they were created to become!

"When heartache appears in our lives and we're forced to face bittersweet truths, we must be reminded that within each challenge there is always a higher offering. Although hidden from our view, we must raise our thinking , open our hearts, and recognize that we're being called to a new stage of life, a new room, (possibly even with a whole new view). Unfamiliarity can be frightening, and new paths are always a risk. But what is life if not a journey into the wondrous unknown. Look around. grace and beauty can be found even within the pain. The only lock, keeping us trapped or blind or stuck, is fear. The only cage, our own minds". (1)
